The Advertising Standards Agency recently launched a full review and report into the rise of influencer marketing, focused specifically on how it is non-compliant with traditional ASA rules. Influencer marketing is a large marketing-base within retail and e-commerce but it’s also a growth area in finance, particularly on social apps such as TikTok. Product Partnerships has recently started working with Meltwater, a social media listening platform. Meltwater’s technology can research and monitor billions of online conversations in real-time, and provides instant analytics on a library of social media data. This technology will help FCA-regulated companies identify non-compliant activities online, provide them with insights into trends around regulated activities, and help them build data-driven strategies to target those trends whilst remaining compliant.
