Nigel Wray

Nigel Wray

Founder & Director

Nigel has over 30 years’ experience in financial services including being a Senior Manager at Leeds Building Society (LBS) and an Approved Person and Board Director of an LBS subsidiary.

Nigel also has extensive experience in the motor sector working within motor dealerships and in senior roles with Vauxhall Finance. He is MBA, ACIS and Prince 2 qualified.

Managing Director

Phillip has held various board level positions within PLCs, SMEs, and VC backed businesses across a variety of sectors offering retail consumer credit.

Phillip is a practicing Chartered Director and Fellow member of the IoD London and is MBA qualified.

Tim Whaley

Relationship Director

Tim has over 28 years’ experience in the motor finance industry holding management roles with GMAC and acting as a Board Director for one of the UK’s leading credit broking firms.

Tim has a BA (Hons) degree in business management.
Helen Dutton

Helen Dutton

Head of Oversight & Account Management
I’m Helen Dutton and I am PPL’s Head of Oversight & Account Management. I manage the account management team and client relationships with some of PPL’s largest clients including Bensons for Beds, Peloton, Vaha, Made.com, Google and Complete Vehicle Management. The account management team works collaboratively with the compliance team to ensure we deliver the promised oversight activities in line with our service levels, and we act as the ‘face’, providing a conduit into PPL for all our clients’ needs.

I have been with PPL since November 2018 and have seen the business grow from its roots in providing compliance solutions for clients predominantly in the motor sector to also working with large retailers like those mentioned above. Life is never dull at PPL and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next 12 months brings!
Wendy Clegg

Wendy Clegg

Head of Governance & Risk
I’m Wendy Clegg and I am the Head of Governance & Risk. My main role is responsibility for implementing and administering the firm’s policies and procedures and identifying compliance risks, including development of the client audit programme.

I joined PPL in September 2017, having previously spent 25 years working in the insurance broking industry. Prior to moving into the Compliance Role in 2004 at my previous firm, I worked in customer service, sales, claims and customer retention departments and I feel that having worked in roles across all the operational teams I have a good understanding of the customer journey and how that can be helped or hindered by regulations and procedures. My varied experience across these roles ensures that I have a commercial understanding and approach to compliance solutions.
