Finance should fit seamlessly in the quote, not just the checkout
Home projects are usually sold over several conversations: a showroom visit, a design appointment, a survey and a quote. The costs come up at every stage, and many customers start thinking about how they’ll pay long before they see the final price.
If finance only appears at the checkout stage, or isn’t offered at all, customers may make the purchase decision without it. That might mean delaying, scaling back their plans or walking away completely. And if a competitor talks about finance at the quote stage, that may be where they go. Thinking about finance as part of your sales journey helps you see where it fits and when to talk about it with your customers.
There’s no one-size-fits-all finance solution
A customer buying a new bathroom suite is different to someone planning a full kitchen installation, so it’s important to look at each customer’s aspirations and finance journey differently.
Some customers want shorter terms. Others prefer longer terms, interest-free credit or interest-bearing credit. Access to more than one lender may give you more flexibility to offer a finance solution that suits both the project and the customer.
If you only offer BNPL or Pay in 3
For some purchases, BNPL can suit your customers. Since 15 July 2026, deferred payment credit has been a regulated credit agreement, so now is a good time to review your finance offering: your permissions, how your financial promotions are working and your customer journey. An overview of your operations may also help you decide whether one option is enough for larger projects.
Trade suppliers, manufacturers and installer networks
If you supply kitchens or bathrooms to a network of installers or dealers, it’s important that finance is offered across your network in a consistent, controlled way. PPL supports networks with the structure, onboarding, training and oversight to help make that happen.
Dealing with home adaptation and mobility finance with care
Stairlifts, accessible bathrooms and other home adaptations are often bought by, or for, older customers or customers with disabilities. Finance in this area needs particular care: clear information, time to decide, and no pressure.
We can help you design customer journeys that handle vulnerability sensitively, from how finance is introduced to how staff are trained to recognise when someone may need more support.
